1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of mathematics tutoring services by Johnny Robinson trading as John Lindon Mathematics Tutor ("the Tutor"). By booking and attending tutoring sessions, you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these terms. The Client may be a student, parent, or guardian.

2. Services Provided

The Tutor provides one-to-one and small group mathematics tutoring services for students at Pre-GCSE, GCSE, and A-Level. Services include:

  • In-person tutoring sessions at an agreed location
  • Online tutoring sessions via video conferencing
  • Provision of learning materials and resources
  • Progress tracking and feedback to parents/guardians
  • Exam preparation and revision support

3. Booking and Payment

Sessions are booked by mutual agreement between the Client and the Tutor. The following payment terms apply:

  • Payment is due within 7 days of each session unless otherwise agreed
  • Payment should be made by bank transfer to the account details provided
  • Current rates are: Pre-GCSE £25/hr, GCSE £32/hr, A-Level £35/hr
  • Rates may be reviewed periodically with reasonable notice given
  • Discounts may be available for school-hours sessions and block bookings

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The following cancellation policy applies:

  • At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session without charge
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged at the full session rate
  • The Tutor will make reasonable efforts to reschedule sessions where possible
  • If the Tutor cancels a session, a replacement session will be offered at no additional cost
  • In the case of genuine emergencies, the cancellation fee may be waived at the Tutor's discretion

5. Responsibilities

The Tutor will:

  • Provide professional, well-prepared tutoring sessions
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit the student's individual needs
  • Provide regular progress updates to parents/guardians
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Comply with all relevant safeguarding requirements

The Client/Student will:

  • Attend sessions on time and prepared to learn
  • Complete any agreed homework or practice between sessions
  • Communicate openly about areas of difficulty or concern
  • Provide a suitable learning environment for in-person sessions
  • Make payment promptly in accordance with these terms

6. Safeguarding

The Tutor is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all students. The Tutor holds an enhanced DBS check and follows a comprehensive safeguarding policy. For sessions with students under 18, a parent or guardian should be present in the home during in-person sessions. Our full Safeguarding Policy is available at conwymaths.com/safeguarding.

7. Privacy

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at conwymaths.com/privacy. We collect and use only the data necessary to provide our tutoring services effectively.

8. Liability

While the Tutor will make every effort to support student progress, please note:

  • The Tutor cannot guarantee specific exam results or grades
  • Student progress depends on many factors including attendance, effort, and practice
  • The Tutor's liability is limited to the fees paid for services rendered
  • The Tutor is not liable for any indirect or consequential losses

9. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, worksheets, and resources created by the Tutor remain the intellectual property of the Tutor. Materials are provided for the personal educational use of the student only and should not be shared, copied, or distributed without written permission.

10. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, please raise your concern directly with the Tutor at john@conwymaths.com. All complaints will be acknowledged within 48 hours and addressed fairly and promptly.

11. Changes to Terms

The Tutor reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Clients will be notified of any material changes in writing (including by email) with reasonable notice. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
